THE CHINA LAKER
Hewlett-Packard Company
President’s Message by Dr Bob Smith
Mar 2025
Greetings,
We are very busy in these exciting times. We are preparing for our annual
Dinner Auction on Saturday 10 May. This popular event is our primary
fundraiser. It is an opportunity to visit with friends, enjoy a meal catered by
Casey’s, and participate in a live auction, a silent auction, and raffles. I
hope you will attend. Doors open at 3:30 PM and dinner will be served at
5:00 PM. The early opening allows you more time to look over the auction
items and socialize, a favorite activity at these events.
School children are now visiting our museum as part of their Spring Field
Trips. To date, 95 children have visited. Schools that visited, included St.
Ann School, REALMS Elementary, and Immanuel Christian School.
Activities we provide include art/construction projects, fundamentals of
rockets, science of flight, and occasionally, a tour inside of the T-39D
aircraft, and a small rocket launch.
We are nearing final inspection for our STEAM Discovery Center Annex,
and are developing STEAM classes we will be offering soon. We are
completing several projects in our new Exhibit Hall, that are required to
pass final inspection. Please come by and see our progress firsthand. Please
let Nancy or Fawn know if you plan to visit, so we can have someone
available to point out details of the new construction, and take you for a
closer look when it is safe.
Thank you for your support!
