Army from 1943 to 1946 in the
Army Corps of Engineers He was
awarded a Victory Medal, Good
Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific
Service Medal, American Theatre
Service Medal and European-Afri—
can Medal.
He owned the open market at
Valley Center from 1961 to 1996,
and was a wholesale and retail
food distributor in Gorst until re-
tiring eight years ago.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting,
bowling and traveling in his recre-
ational vehicle.
He was a member of Saint Nich-
olas Parish in Gig Harbor, the Elks
and Lions clubs and for 50 years,

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie
J , MacDonald of Port Orchard;
sons Jerry MacDonald Sr, and
his wife Pamela, and Kenneth
MacDonald; daughters Paulette
Lavender, Lana Sanders and her
husband Carl, and Tami McCaslin
and her husband Michael; brother
Colonel Allen MacDonald, Retired,
of Sequim; and numerous grand-
children and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held
at 2 pm. on Saturday, January
14, at Rill‘s Life Tribute Center in
Port Orchard. Burial will be at 2
pm. Tuesday, January 17, at Ta-
homa National Cemetery in Kent.
