Dear Ralph:
This is in response to your April 14 2012 Plague Replacement Request for your home
located at 410 18th St. Your request was researched by the Pacific Grove Heritage
Society's Research Team. A recommendation was subsequently submitted to the
Heritage Society's Board of Directors and your request was approved.
Tax and assessor records indicate that the original owner was Franklin Wadsworth and
that the home was built in 1905. There is a footprint of the house on the 1905 Sanborn
Map, but the original address was 412 181 St. In 1918 the address was changed to 410
18th St., but still under Mr. Wadsworth's name.
It was determined through researching records at City Hall, that there were no
substantive changes to the exterior ofthe house since the prior plague approval in July of
2000, and that the historical integrity of the home had been maintained.
You will be contacted by the Heritage Society when the plague is completed. You can
pick the plague up at the Heritage Society Barn located at 605 Laurel Ave., in Pacific
Grove. Completion of the plague can take three to six months depending on the backlog
of requests. As you know, there is a $35 donation fee required for replacement plaques.
You can either send the check before you pick it up, or pay when you do pick up the
plague.
Thank you for your interest in the Pacific Grove Heritage Society.
Ifyou have any further questions please contact our representatives at: (831) 372-289
Res*ttfully, Jim gan, Heritage Society Research Team.
