Contest Winners
Wally Crawford, owner of
the PortA—Subs Sandwich
Shop, held a contest to change
the name of his business.
Over 160 persons submitted
names for the sandwich shop
and there were fancy and not
so fancy names entered.
Wally was the sole judge for‘
the new name and he picked
Jayne Gorsch’s entry of
Bayway Eatery as the
winner of the first prize of
$100. Jeff Schlip of Manzanita
came in a close second with
Nehalem Bay' Eatery and
picked up $50. In third place
was Kara Wood, age 7, of
Ahola, Oregon who came up
with the name of Hamburger
Saloon.
A new sign is planned by
Wally and he also has posted
new winter hours for the
Bayway Eatery. It will be
open Tuesday through Sunday
from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
and closed on Mondays.
Dinner Planned
The senior citizens of the
area are invited to attend the
Christmas Dinner sponsored
by the Manzanita Merchants
Association at the Manzanita
Inn on Sunday, December 23,
1979.
Dinner will be served at 3:00
p.rn. and the Manzanita
Merchants invite» all the local
senior citizens to come be their
guests and have a'very Merry
Christmas Dinner.

Trio to Perform at Coaster Theater on 30th
North Coast audiences are
in for a treat when the Clifton
Trio will perform a concert of
classical music on guitar, flute
and viola at the Coaster
Theater on Sunday, December
30th, at P.M.. The Trio
consists of John Bunce, who
plays classic guitar, Audrey
May, viola and John May,
flute. They are well known to
local audiences through their
performances at Cannon
beach, on Public Radio and
Wx
E
Baths.
Raccoons,
Planters and Deer just to name a few.
Merry Christmas
Downtown Rockaway
Television, and through their
concerts at public schools
throughout the state, funded
by‘ a federal grant. They
performed at Nehalem
Elementary School, and will
be remembered as well for
their appearance at the Wine
Tasting Party given by the
North Coast Friends of ‘Music
three years ago.
John May was first flautist
for the Oregon Symphony
Orchestra for-many years. His ‘
