RE: Address: 272 Pine Subdivision: 1st Addition to Retreat
Block: 8 Lot: 17,19
Our maps and tax records show that the above structure was first assessed in: ???? This means the
structure was actually built early in that year, or late in the previous year.
The first owner of this structure, according to the County's assessor's records was: ....
9999
Other Comments: The original house at 272 Pine Avenue was built in 1893. In late 1921 or early 1922,
the house was moved to Monterey by Mrs. Lizzie Happ of 760 Munras Ave. I cannot tell if it was moved
to that area or not, as most of the grounds now are part of lhe Cam Munras Hotel. Since the original
house was a small wooden structure, I suspect it has since been demolished. From 1922 through at least
1926, there was no house at 272 Pine. I can find no indication that another structure was moved to the
272 Pine location. The Planning Department at the corner ofLaurel and 17th should have a file on your
house. Their information is accurate for structures built after 1928.
Plaaue Status: m Structure is eligible for a plague and one will be made up for you at no charge.
You will be notified when plague is ready. It could take 4 to 6 months.
El Structure is eligible for plague, but it must be requested by the owner.
Structure is not eligible for a plague at this time because:
Built after 1926 and/or stuccoed over.
Enclosed please find: Sanborn maps for 1926 and 1914.
Tax Assessor information through 1926.
