RE: Address: 230 4h Street Subdivision: 1St Addition
Block: 7 Lot: 24,22
Our maps and tax records show that the above structure was first assessed in: 1888 This means the
structure was actually built early in that year, or late in the previous year.
The first owner ofthis structure, according to the County's assessor's records was: Mrs. M.J.
Metteer
Other Comments: I suspect the original house was enlarged somewhat in late 1905 or early 1906 when
Elvira M Vasquez became Mrs. Elvira M. V. McAnaney after marrying Dan McAnaney, a caulker for the
Monterey County Water Works. I based my suspician on the jump in the assessment between 1905 and
1906, which is unusual for those two years.
PIa(lue Status: El Structure is eligible for a plague and one will be made up for you at no charge.
You will be notified when plague is ready. It could take 4 to 6 months.
® Structure is not eligible for a plague at this time because:
The original house is hidden beneath modern siding.
Enclosed please find: Tax assessor information through 1926.
Sanborn maps from 1914 and 1926.
Page from 1907 City Directory.

Newspapers
Newspapers only print Public Information
First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Newspapers produce and deliver news and information which they feel is important -- most often
from public information such as arrest reports, traffic infractions, accidents, indictments,
lawsuits, jury verdicts, property records, legal notices, and many other sources of information
which is freely available to anyone at any time. Newspaper publishers do not have access to any
information which is not also available to the public at large. All information published in a
newspaper is "public information."
The use of your name in an article does not mean you own it. Newspapers deliver news on all sorts
of public matters which, in addition to information found in the public registers, may include
statements you make to a reporter or official, your photograph, background and other information
provided by you or others, rebuttals, opinions, and other information such as court-ordered
legal notices, and historical and statistical data.
"The Press of the United States of America" is constitutionally protected from interference,
including by the government. If you are an attorney, law enforcement officer, officer of the
court, or other investigator, by law you must reveal that to us.
