Grounds:
I trust the city of Pacific grove sees fit to reverse the decision
of the Historic Resources Committee action re above.
House suffered considerably from the earthquake in the late eighties.
I arge sections of exterior stucco had to be replaced and more
problems were taken care of last year. A considerable number of
fairly large cracks had to be repai, jon the inside of the house.
The repairmen checked the house and said it was safe but the
structure was not very sound.
I understand the Historic Resources Committee's consideration
for placement on the inventory is only that of the architectural
aspects of the house. Consideration is not given to the site or
to the immediate neighborhood. This is unbelievable - how can
you separate them. This is not a tent-size lot in the old retreat
area. And the house is not a beautiful Craftsman House. 901 Del
Monte and the other improvement on the property areablighLia.

The following actions of the Committee disturb me:
1. That all committee decisions were prompted by one member
only - Pam Chrislock. The committee deferred to her on everything
and she definitely directed the Yes or No. One wonders what
the other members really thought.
2. Pam Chrislock, committee member, showed an emotional tie
to 901 Del Monte -
"I almost lived in that house in the 1960s - I LCVE THAT
MCUSE.
I understand rules but a house, the lot, otherimprovement, the
neighborhood and the owner should be considered.
I have owned property in F.G since 1973 and have abided by city rules.
