Stevens Police, through a joint
investigation, have deter-
mined that the fire occurring
on May 28, 2018 at the Lake
Stevens Boys’ and Girls’ Club
was caused by arson.
At approximately 2:30 in the
afternoon, Snohomish County
dispatch received a 911 call of
reports of smoke and flames
seen behind the Lake Stevens
Boys & Girls Club.
Crews arrived to find two
pot-a-potties fully involved in
flames with extension going
up into the overhang and the
eaves of the roof structure.

Enjoying a quiet night at the
lake with family after a beau-
tiful Memorial Day became
a sort of nightmare for Jamie
and Jason Schultz.
The Schulz’s and their chil-
dren decided to take a walk by
the lake when they came upon
several teenagers hanging out
on the gazebo at Wyatt Park.
The teens were throwing empty
bottles and breaking them and
throwing the pieces at kids.
“We were at Wyatt Park. We
took the kids there to do din-
ner and enjoy ourselves – or so
we thought,” Jamie said. “There
were a bunch of kids playing
in the water and a couple of
adults partying on the dock.”
Jamie, an avid picture taker
started taking videos with her
camera.
“I started videotaping the
youth on the dock. Our kids
wanted to go on the dock but

The Schultz’s noticed that
several other adults at the park
were calling police as they
completed their walk on the
dock. Jamie also called to the
report the teens.
“There were adults on the
phone with the police and I
called as well,” she said. “I was
telling the kids that they were
on camera and that everyone
on the dock was on camera.
Another woman told them to
clean up their staff and the po-
lice were on their way.”
That’s when the teens started
throwing punches, Jamie said.
