Evelyn Fagergren
Evelyn Fagergren, Eb, of Shellun,
Wash. died peacefully in her fami-
iy's home in Kumilche on July 18,
2002. She was born in Duluth, Min-
nesolo, in 1915, fourth of eleven
chiidren to John and Esther Sten»
back. She mel and married A.H.
(“Foggy”) Fagergren in 1942 in
San Diego, Calif. where she served
as a Navy nurse. She cared for
Foggy, an iniured Navy pilol and
officer. They married and moved
to Shelton in 1943, where Foggy
served as commander of the Shel-
ion Air Station Until the end of the
wor. Foggy proceeded Evelyn in
death in 1962,
Evelyn served as Director of
Nursing Services at Fir Lane Ter-
race and later of Elmo's Ookhursl
Convalescent Center until her re»
iirement in 1974. She also worked
as Dr. William Shumacher’s nurse
in Shelton. She performed count-
less hours of service as (1 Hospice
nurse following retirement. She re-
ceived the "J.C. Penney Citizen
Volunteer of the Year“ award in
1982.
Evelyn is survived by her loving
sons, Gary (and wife Meredith),
Eric (and wife Pat) and D'uane
(and wife Jannel); seven grand-
children, five great grandchildren.

Evelyn enioyed hiking (with the
“Walkie Talkies of Union), gar-
dening, bird walching, and provide
ed loving care for family and many
others in need over her lifetime.
She was an active member of Me
son County Historical Society and
lhe American Cancer Society. She
was a member of Gloria Dei
Lutheran Church in west Olympia
for lhe past half cenlury. Donations
in unpreciotion for Evelyn's full
and remarkable iife may be sent
