Ian R. Satterfield, a recent
graduate of Shelton High School,
died July 26 in Hoodsport. He
was 18.
He was born on April 7, 1978
in Seattle to Ron and Gloria
(Smissaert) Satterfield. He gradu-
ated from Shelton High School in
June
Mr. Satterfield worked in the
shellfishindustg.
He enjoyed being outdoors and
hiking. He loved playing Little
League baseball and played for a
Little League big ball team before
he died He also enjoyed making
friends,»said family members.
He is survived by his father,
Ron Satterfield of Hoodsport; his
mother, Gloria Barstow of Sno-
homish; his stepmother, Debbie
Webber of Shelton; three sisters,
Tiffany Satterfield of Hoodsport
and Karli and Elyse Barstow of
Snohomish; his paternal grand-
mother Eleanor Satterfield of
Seattle, maternal grandparents
Jacques and Sonia Smissaert of
Ballard and maternal grandmoth—
ers June Barstow of Edmonds
and Shari] Webber of Seattle; and
numerous aunts and uncles.
Memorial services were held
for Ian Satterfield at the Shelton
High School Mini Dome on Fri.

July 26, 1996, in his home. The
cause of death was unavailable
Mr. Satteriield was born April 7,
1978, in Seattle to Ron and Gloria
(Smissaert) Satterfield. He gradu-
ated from Shelton High School in
1996.
He worked in the shellfish indus-
ry.
Mr. Satterfield enjoyed the out-
doors. hiking and playing baseball.
He is survived by his father, Ron,
Hoodsport; his mother, Gloria
Barstow, Snohomish; his step-
mother, Debbie Webber, Shelton;
three sisters, Tiffany Satterfield,
Hoodsport,
Karli and Elyse
Barstow, both of Snohomish; his
grandparents, Jacques and Sonja
Smissaert, Seattle; three grand-
mothers, Eleanor Satterfield, Seat-
tle, June Barstow, Edmonds, and
Sharil Webber, Seattle; and numer-
ous aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will begin at 2
pm. Friday, Aug. 2, in Shelton High
School Mini Dome, Shelton. The
Revs. Tony Sunseri and Jack Keith
will aficiate.
The family suggests memorial
donations be made to Shelton and
Mason County D.A.R.E. Program,

died July 26 in an apparent sui-
cide, Mason County Deputy Cor—
oner Todd Barr said Wednesday.
Satterfield, Barr said, shot
himself in the head with a .22 cal»
iber gun Friday evening. Satter-
field‘s father found his son’s body
Tuesday evening, Barr said, in a
heavily wooded area next to the
father’s driveway in Hoodsport.
The gun used in the suicide
was apparently found in Ron Satv
terfield’s home, Barr said. The
elder Satterfield had filed a miss-
ing-person report and was search—
ing for his son when he found the
body.
A memorial service will be held
for Ian Satterfield at the Shelton
High School Mini-Dome at 2 p.m.
