Dear David,
The house at 213 18th Street was built as a small cottage in 1888 (please see enclosed 1892 map). In
1896 it was enlarged to its current size with an addition on the right (see enclosed 1926 map). It is
possible that the addition on the right could have been another little cottage, but I can find nothing to
support this theory. From 1888 through 1926, the house had seven different owners. Unfortunately, I
can find nothing in our files on these people. It is very likely they all lived out of town and used this as a
vacation and/or rental cottage. The original wooden structure was covered with stucco sometime after
1926.
