Jon A Wokojance
Former Shelton resident Jon A.
Wokojance, 68, died on March 12.
He was born on January 31,
1937 in Craig, Colorado, to Frank
and Billie M. (Lippard) War
kojance.
The family moved to Washing-
ton when he was very young and
he "attended schools in Shelton.
He was an avid baseball player,
played, American Legion baseball
in Shelton and was known as an
outstanding hitter and outfielder.
After high school in Shelton, he
entered the Marines in 1955. He
served in the lst Battalion of the
5th Marines, lst Marine Division
In 1960 he moved to Kenne-
wick to work at Boise Cascade’s
Wallula plant. In 1984 he wont to
work (or the state of Washington
as a civilian employee at
Fairchild Air Force Base. He re-
tired in 2002.
Mr. Wokojanee married Roxi
anne Hatter in 1963 in Pasco. He
shared his love of baseball with
his two sons and spent many
hours teaching them the game.
His family said he was a great
storyteller, and entertained fami-
ly and friends with many inter-
esting tales. He was an avid out-
doorsman and excellent marks-
man. He hiked and hunted in the
Olympics with his brothers, and
later in the Blue and Cascade
mountains with his sons and
friends.
He combined his love of the
outdoors with his artistic ability,
sketching and painting wildlife in
its natural habitat. He was a cap-
able artist who worked with oils,
charcoal and camera.

his parents, Frank and Billie Wo-
lgojance, and sisters Ruth M. Gib-
son and Joyce E. Miller.

ki, and Aric Wokojance; grand»
sons Zachary and James Wo-
Kojance; a sister, June McPher-
son; brothers Frank, Richard and

ous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held
on April 30 in Basin City.
