Walter E. Emsley of Shelton
died at his home November 22 at
the age of 76. He had lived in the
Shelton area for 64 years. {:2

in Clyde, Alberta, Canada, to
Frank and Florence (Wood) Ems-\N
ley. \
Walter Emsley worked for The \
Boeing Company during World
War II, and volunteered to serve
with the civilian technical corps
who went to Great Britain to main
tain aircraft there. After the war,
he worked for Simpson Timber
Company‘s Insulating Board
Plant He retired about 1960.
In retirement, Mr. Emsley
enjoyed traveling, fishing, wood-
working and spending time with
his family. He loved sailing, and
was one of the original members of
the Shelton Yacht Club.
He was a member of the Matlock
Community Church, where he
served on the building committee
and volunteered at the food bank.
He was a lifelong member and for-
mer state wagonmaster of the ‘
Good Sam Recreational Vehicle
Club. He was amember of Progress
Grange and the Mason County
Senior Activities Association.
Surviving Mr. Emsley are his
wife, Marge (Bina) Emsley of Shel-
ton; three daughters and sons-in-
law, Gwen Avery and her husband,
Jack, of Matlock, Irene Fever and
her husband, Ted, of Ensenada,
Mexico, and Carol Schmidt andher
husband, Loren, of Olympia; a
brother, Carl Emsley of Shelton;
two sisters, Elsie Inmon of Shelton
,and Gerry McMill‘ian of Vancou-

c ildr’en and 10 great-grand-
children.
A memorial service will be held
at 1 pm. Saturday, November 27,
at Mountain View Alliance
Church Pastor John Pais will offi-
ciate.
