Re: FW: Special Inspection Request 238 Lobos
All,
Dave and Took a look at these windows this morning. These windows appeared to have been
repaired some time in the past. The side tracks are now vinyl. The windows by themselves
seem repairable, but you would still be left with vinyl tracks.
In my opinion a big portion of the historic fabric of the original windows has been
removed some time ago and replaced with vinyl. I believe replacement windows would look
more like the original windows then repairing the wood.
I would recommend replacement for the above reason.
Let-me know if you have questions on this,
John

John & Dave,
Can you conduct a special inspection at 238 Lobos by November 30 to determine if any of
the windows are "deteriorated beyond repair?" The home is on the City's HRI, so the
windows are considered historic and can only be replaced if they are too deteriorated to
repair.
Please advise. Thank you!
Lynn
