home. He was 80,

on July 6, 1922
in Vermillion,
South Dakota, to
Robert and
Christina (Dow-
lin) Oakley.
He served in ,
the Army Air
Forces during
World War II
and was a staff
Sergeant at the
'time of his dis-
charge. Verald
He married Oakley
Vada Gale on
March 21, 1964 in Reno, Nevada.
She died on May 17, 1996.
Mr. Oakley had worked as a
plumber and pipefitter. He was
also a foster parent for 23 years.
Mr. Oakley loved fishing and
enjoyed flying kites. He also loved
his children and taking care of
others.
Surviving are his daughters,
Connie Wiltman, Sharon Saselli
and Pamela Kick, all of Shelton;
son Stanley Larson of Juneau,
Alaska; sisters Vivian Tenate of
Menusha, Wisconsin, and Ger»
trude Erickson of Mountain View,
California; nine grandchildren
and 17 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held
on Friday, August 23, at Shelton
Memorial Park.
