Dear Sirs: I wish to make a complaint about the Planning Department of Pacific Grove. Neighbbors noticed work was being done without a permit, whereby an addition of perhaps 4' was extending a house out of conformity. The Planning Department stopped the work while a permit was under consideration, and under protest from neighbors, issued th e permit. More protest insued, b y way of correspondence on file at the Planning Department. The permit is being permitted to stand. The addition in question is a matter of whether or not the addite J (/3 wae a replacement of an extistant situation. The exsisting situation een was an ancient shed, attached to the siding of the house with a single arm, clealry visible before_the-sidingwas-Zind.2 € As the permit was belated, the Planning Department didn't see the original sitiuation. To make a sojd addition to a house and call it replacement of an ancient shed, open to the elements and without flooring is an absurdity.
