She was born Aug. 13, 1898, in
Murlenhach, Germany, to Arnold
and Gertrude (Yount) Mayer.
She came to the United States
from Germany in 1920 to marry
John Thomassen in New York They
lived in Nebraska where he worked
as a blacksmith until 1939 when
they moved to Shelton:
Mrs. Thomassen was a member
of St. Edward’s Catholic Church.
She had been a cook at Camp
Grisdale.
Mrsl Thomassen is survived by
two daughters, Christina Redman,
Shelton, and Margaret “Trudy"
Kitna, Eureka, Calif; three grand-
children and six great»grandchil~
dren. She was preceded in death by
her husband, John, in 1982.
A rosary will be recited at 7 pm.
Thursday, Jan. 4, in St Edward’s
Catholic Church, Shelton. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be at 11 am.
Friday, Jan. 5, in St. Edward’s
Catholic Church, Shelton. The Rev
Dominic Hahn 0.5.3. will officiate.
Interment will be in Shelton Memo»
