Former North Mason teacher
Ina A. (Mrs. Earl) Dagnie, 75, of
2163 East Nubling, Port Or-
chard, died at her home
December 8.
Mrs. Dagnie taught in the
North Mason . School District
from 1962 until her retirement
in 1972. She and her husband
have lived in Manchester for
more than 40 years.
The former Ina Cushman was
born in Everett on June 24,
1907, but moved to Lake
Stevens when she was 10 years
old She married her husband
on March 14, 1931 in Everett.
where the couple lived before
moving to Manchester.
Mrs. Dagnie sold tickets at
the Manchester Dock for the
Black Ball Ferry Line for a
number of years, Later, she at-
tended Olympic College and
the University of Washington,
from which she received a
degree in home eeonomiosin
the late 19505.
She taught in Winlock for two
years before joining North
Mason schools.
She belonged to various
senior citizen groups and the
Daughters of the American
Revolution.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by two sons, Robert of
Morton and David of Belling-
ham; five grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; four
sisters, Rose Clark of Seattle.
and Alta Brodie, Ruth Newman
and Mrs. Dagnie’s twin, Una
Wangerin, all of Everett; and
two brothers, Roland Cushman
of Gig Harbor and Fred Cush-
man Jr. of Lake Stevens.
Services were December 11
at Gilchrist Funeral Home. A
fellowship hour was held at
Elim Lutheran Church’s social
hall in Waterman following the
service. ‘
Burial was at Sunset Lane
Cemetery, The family suggests
memorials to Hospice of Kitsap
