ASPA Related Efforts
The Science and Technology
segment of the ASPA National
Conference, led by Dr. laBerge
in place of Mr. Wilson,
helped to link Center inta'est in
teclmology utilization with the
national effort in this area. In the
formal program, Center people
serving on panels included Dr. G.
W. Leonard, Head, Propulsion
Development Dept. and Dr.
Richard Clark, Head, Atmospheric
Applications Branch, Code 602. A
breakfast seminar on cross-
organizational use of technology
was joined in by Leroy Marquardt,
Head, Instrument Development
Division, Code 304, George Lin-
steadt, and Fred Nathan, Domestic
Action Coordinator, Code 172.
ASPA Follow Through
Effort Planned
The final session of the Denver
Conference, chaired by Fred
Nathan, covered ASPA's role in
Science and Technology. The
consensus of this meeting was that
the China Lake Chapter should
sustain the ASPA science and
technology activities begun here
last year by organizing a Society
working group that seeks to im-
prove the management of- science
and technology particularly as it
may meet domestic needs. This
group should initially focus on area
problems. Attendees volunteering
actively to participate in the group
included Dr. Ed Bergman,
Teclmical Director of the Naval
Electronics Laboratory Center,
Prof. Ross Clayton of USC, and key
representatives of such other
organizationas as JPL, Rand
Corp., and NASA:

BOTH OF THEM- That's what pretty Terl Hili, a
Code 75 secretary, seems to be saying as she helps
to bring attention to the fact that donations for the
current Navy Relief drive are now being accepted.
As for the cars, well, we can't say what they're
going to be used for because we're not allowed to
publicize this type of promotion.
