..alii • 'Safety-Gram. In this Joyous season of Christmas, with its eternal renewal of "Peace on earth. to men of good will," there is a quiet spell which pervades the air ... a feeling of goodfellowship among all men ... a warmth and graciousness ... a renewed belief in the dignity, the blgh destiny of all mankind. But despite the beauty and human warmth which prevail during the festival of Christmas ... despite the renewed promise of life and hope ... despite the interest and concern of men in their common problems-there is an ugly. black picture of suffering found in the high toll of persons k1lled or injured in traffic accidents this month. Paradoxical as it may seem ... MORE PEOPLE ARE KILLED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ON CHRISTMAS DAY THAN ON ANY OTHER DAY IN THE YEAR! The huge star ""'On "B" MOWltaln t.hat sheds its rays out upon NOTS, is one of the most beautiful Christ- mas decorations to be witnessed here in many years, according to most of the station's old timers. The idea for the star originated with LCdr. J. T. Waldron and M. A. Reich. The star measures 120 teet from to to bottom and 100 teet wide. It contains a total of 750 electric light bulbs. The star rays are 80 teet in length with the exception of the lower ray which is 100 feet in length. Credit for the star's 1nstallation goes to LCdr. Waldron, ChIef B. H. Ender, A. P. Domingues (GMI) , L. S. Viveros (AOAN), and G. C. BaI- ley (EM3). The artist's conception of the star (shown above) was drawn by the Graphic Arts J1"OUP at TID.
