Arthur F. Zehe of Grapeview
died in Shelton on February 26. He'
was 78‘
He was born in Mount Angel,
Oregon, on May 27, 1914 to Freder-
ick and Ernestine (Steinke) Zehe,
He had been a resident of Mason
County since 1944‘
Mr. Zehe taught for over 40
years in both public and private
schools in Shelton, Vancouver and
Spokane. He retired in 1979 after
22 years at Grapeview School, He
was a member of Memorial Luther-
an Church in Bremerton, the
Washington Education Associa-
tion and the Bayshore Golf Club
He was a volunteer for the Grape-
view Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie
A. Zehe of Grapeview; his daugh-
ter, Elaine J. Krueger of Los Ala-
mitos, California; his son, Joel A.
Zehe of Kelso; his brother, Howard
Zehe of Roseburg, Oregon; his sis-
ters, Esther Winn of Saint Paul,
Minnesota, Betty Kuhlman of Sno-
homish and Ruth Holmer of
Inglewood, Florida; four grandchil-
dren and numerous nieces and
nephews,
The Reverend August Lubke-
man officiated at funeral services
held March 3 at Memon'al Luther-
an Church in Bremerton. Inurn-
ment was at Shelton Memorial
Park. Arrangements are by
McComb and Batstone Funeral
