Ruth Marie (John-
ston) Kadoun, 84, an 81-
year resident of Shelton,
passed away Saturday,
March 18, 2017 in Shel-
ton, of a broken heart.
She was born August 22,
1932 in Mohawk, W.V.,
to George Johnston and '
Lilia (Coleman) John-
ston.
She married Alfred
Kadoun on August 26,
1950 in Shelton. She
was a homemaker. She
enjoyed oil painting,
knitting, crocheting,
cake decorating, garden-
ing, canning, canvas art,
winemaking, fishing and
tincrafi's.
Ruth was a woman
ahead of her time. She
always had some crafl:
project she was working
on. She would have loved
Pinterest. She consid-
ered caring for her fam-
. ily a full-time job. She
raised and preserved
‘" t
most of the food her fam-
ily ate. Ruth loved teach-
ing her granddaughters
how to paint and make
canvas art.
After Alfred’s re-
tirement, they took to
traveling with her sister
and her niece and their
husbands, named “The
six-pack,” they traveled
from Canada to Oregon
every chance they could.
It was always a new ad-
venture.
She was preceded
‘ in death by G. Steve
Kadoun, son, died May
25, 2015. Alfred E.
Kadoun, husband, died
June 1, 2016 after 65
years of marriage. Also
by three brothers and
six sisters.
She is survived by her
daughters, Kim Dodge
(Joel) of Shelton; Jodi
Twidwell (Fred) of Shel-
ton; grandchildren, Joell
Dodge, Shelton; Amanda
(Dodge) Brown, Olym-
pia; Beryl Kadoun, Shel-
ton; Kelsey Twidwell,
Sheltbn; and four great-
grandchildren.
