Walter T. Hakola Walter T. Hakola Walter Toivo HakoLa, a former head football and track coach at Irene S. Reed High School, died at his Treasure Island home April 12‘ He was 74 years old. Mrr Hakola was born April 9, 1911 in Hoquiam, Washington. He attended Central Washington State College in Ellensburg, and started his teaching 'career in Shelton, where he was a math teacher and coach. He married Margaret Garrison in 1940, and served his country in the US. Army during World War 11. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hakola taught school in Seattle for 26 years. Mr. Hakola was active in state square dancing groups and founded an exhibition group of Bryant Ele- mentary School youngsters known widely as the Bryant Barn Swingers Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hakola of Treasure Island; his son, W. Wayne Hakola of Edmonds; his daughter, Linda Leona Molina of Oxnard, Califor- nia; a brother, Wayne Hakola of Hoquiam; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Memorial services will be held at McComb and Batstone Funeral Home at 2 pm. Saturday, April 20‘ The Reverend Dori Abbey will officiate at the memorial rites. , OCR Text: Walter T. Hakola Walter T.
