VA. Hospital Medical Lake in Ta-
coma, after an extended illness.
He was 79.
Mn Wallace was born January
2, 1916 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
He attended school in Texas. He
served in the United States Army
during World War II.
He was self»employed as a
carpenter/builder in Texas and
Washington He then worked for
the Washington Department of
Transportation in Olympia for 14
years before he retired in 1980
He enjoyed the outdoors, includ-
ing fishing, hunting and garden‘
mg.
He was a member of the Shel-
ton Eagle Lodge and a member of
the American Legion.
He lived in Shelton for 20
years. He also lived in Longview,
Elma and Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by
two brothers, Vertis Wallace and
Clifford Simpson; two sisters, Es-
telle Rorake and Ozelle Walker;
and a daughter, Mary Jeanne
Makovineyl
Survivors include two daugh—
ters, Sherry Grandorff of Elma
and Geraldine Henry of Lacey; a
brother, Robert Lee Wallace of
Frankston, Texas; three sisters,
Dorothy Woodard and Velma
Montolbano of Houston, Texas,
and Maxine Jones of Rusk, Texas;
10 grandchildren and 12 great-
grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at
11 am. Friday, September 29, at
Shelton Memorial Park with Pas-
tor Bruce Thacker officiating.

partment of Transportation in

Mr. Wallace enjoyed the outdoors,
fishing, hunting and gardening.
Mr: Wallace was a member of the

Legion. He also lived in Houston,
Texas, Elma and Longview.
Mr. Wallace is survived by two
daughters, Sherry Grandorff, Elma,
and Geraldine Henry, Lacey; a
brother, Robert Lee, Frankston,
Texas; three sisters, Dorothy
Woodard and Velma Montolbano,
both of Houston, Texas, and Maxine
Jones, Rusk, Texas; 10 grandchil-
dren and 12 great-grandchildren.
