Subject: Pacific Grove Research Question
Date: Sat, 24 Apr 2004 20:02:48 -0700
I am a genealogy researcher working on my wife's genealogy and would like to know what
materials are available in your collections. In particular, I would be interested in knowing what
local newspapers were in business during this time period. I am planning a research trip to
Pacific Grove and would also like to know when the research collections are open.
I am researching John and Sarah Thompson, who lived in Pacific Grove from 1900 to 1921.
Sarah Thompson was a former slave who immigrated to California in 1849 and lived most of her
life in Grass Valley until her move to Pacific Grove around 1900. There are key facts concerning
her life in need to find and am hoping to find an obituary from the early 1920's which may
answer some key questions.
I thank you for your time in response.
