Former Shelton resident Lynne
Marie (Wagener) Halbert died on
April 12, She was 68 and a Seattle
resident.
She was born on January 1,
1938 in Ellensburg to George and
Laura Wageneri She graduated
from Irene S. Reed High School in
1956. She attended Washington
State University and ultimately
graduated from the University of
Washington with a degree in edu-
cation.
She married Rolla “Toby" Hal-
bert in 1959 and settled in Seattle
Where she was active at Assump-
tion Grade School and Blanchet
High School, which her children
attended.
She loved children and spent
many hours working with the
Mother’s Club at Assumption, as
a speech coach and as a coach for
girls’ volleyball and track teams.
Mrs Halbert retained many
close friends from her high-school
years and enjoyed the annual gath-
erings of friends and classmates
and attended class reunions.
Restricted by multiple sclerosis
in recent years, she spent many
hours with her grandchildren.
Survivors include husband
Rolla Halbert of Seattle; children
Mark, Laurie and Jeffrey and his
wife Maureen; brother Mickey
Wagener and his wife Mary Claire;
and grandchildren Carlee, Chris-
topher, Caitlin, Griffin, Rachel,
Kobe, Katherine and Julia Rose.
A funeral mass was celebrated
on Wednesday, April 19, at As-
sumption Catholic Church in Seat-
tle. A graveside service for family
members will be held at 11 am. on
Friday, April 21, at Shelton Memo- '
rial Park followed by a memorial
service for friends at Hope Chapel,
421 West E Street in Shelton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial do-
nations may be made to the Na-
tional Multiple Sclerosis Society,
Western Washington Chapter,
192 Nickerson Street, Suite 100,
Seattle, 98109, or the Hope Heart
Institute, 1710 East Jefferson
Street, Seattle, 98122.
