Street
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Rabago,
Your application was researched by the Heritage Society, submitted for consideration at a
meeting of the Board of Directors on July 7, 2015 and approved. Congratulations.
The 1892 Sanborn does not show this lot at all. The 1897 map shows an “L” shaped structure on
the lot. The 1905 & 1914 Maps show the same “L” shaped home with an addition on the back
while the 1926 map shows an entirely different home. I have a Building Permit for a “remodel”
dated 1919 but with no description. What is clear is that the tax records show Amelia S. &
Hedwig Good acquired the property in late 1917 and still owned it in 1928 when the Building
Classification Form was done. So they owned it when it took it’s present shape.
Tax records show that the value of improvements jumped from $500 to $750 in 1921, then
remained at that level through 1926 when the Sanborn Map shows the new current
configuration. The pre-existing house was either substantially rebuilt or completely replaced and
the improvements were first assessed in 1921.
The plaque will read, “Amelia S. & Hedwig Good, 1921”.
Thank you for your interest in the Heritage Society’s activities.
