Subject: 505 9th Street: proposed demolition of
single-family dwelling
Dear Mr. Glover:
I have completed my review of your application for an exemption
from the moratorium on demolition of buildings constructed prior
to 1925 to allow demolition of the single-family dwelling at
505
9th Street. The review process included consultation
with the
Heritage Society Of Pacific Grove and other members of the
Demolition Review Committee on May 21, 1990.
I have made the environmental determination that the proposed
demolition may have a significant effect on the City's
historic
resources. Consequently, an Environmental Impact Report is
required for this project per the California Environmental,
Quality Act.
Based on standards in Ordinance No. 1692 N.S. which provides for
a moratorium on demolition of buildings constructed prior to
1925, your application for an exemption from the moratorium is
denied and preparation of an Environmental Impact Report is not
necessary.
If you are dissatisfied with my decision, you may request the
Council to review the matter as provided in Ordinance 1692 N.S.
Should you wish to appeal my decision, your letter of appeal must
be filed with the City Clerk, City Hall. 300 Forest Avenue, no
later than June 25, 1990.
In the event an appeal is favorably considered by the City
Council, an Environmental Impact Report will be required prior to
final City Council decision on your application.
In addition to the Notice of Environmental Impact Determination,
a Notice Of Intended Demolition was posted on the subject
property. The Notice of Intended Demolition includes information
