TWO killed in auto accidents
Two people died in Thurston County
accidents between Wednesday night
, and earg' Thursday, the State Patrol
reports .
A teen-age boy died and a teen-age
girl was injured about 9:85 pm. Wed- ,
nesday when the car they were riding
in veered off the 6000 block of Lemon
Road in the South Bay area and struck
a power pole. The driver, Paul Bee
rchtold, 17, of Olympia, was pronounced
dead at the scene. His passenger, Jill K.
Meek, 15, of Olympia, received minor
injuries.
01] Thursday, Gerald F. Stoehr, 32, of
Shelton, died after the car he was driv-
ing veered ofi northbound Highww 101,
rolled into a ditch, struck a treeAand
came to rest on its top. The accident,
re orted at 7:46 a.m., occurred about 10
m es northwest of Olympia.

Gerald F. “Gerry” Stoehr of
Shelton died December 15. He was
32.
He was born in Bellingham on
May 2, 1962. His parents are Clara
(Bigler) Stoehr and Arnold and
Sandra (Zilliox) Stoehr. He lived in
Lynden; Moses Lake; Glendale,
California; Yakima; Denver, Colo-
rado; Roseburg, Oregon; and, for
the last four years, in Shelton.
He was a resEuraieur, aving
worked at Harman’s Kentucky
Fried Chicken irrYakimaaneren- '
ver. He started working in the in-
dustry at the age of 16 and ad-
vanced to manager of the number
one volume store in the Harman
chain with a $1 million annual
gross. While at Harman’s he won
many awards and prizes. He left
KFC in 1988 to open Mac’s Place,
his own restaurant near Roseburg.
He moved to Olympia in 1990,
cooking at The Place restaurant
and catering at the Vance 'l‘yee.
Mr. Stoehr loved the out-of-
doors. He liked to snow ski, water
ski, float the Yakima River, smoke
salmon, sing in the choir and sing
karaoke with his friends. He also
liked to hunt deer with his father
and his Uncle Phil.

Olympia, Paul of Tacoma, Erich of

of Bucoda; his grandmother, Anna-
belle Enslow of Eugene, Oregon;
his special friend, Shellie Ripley of
Olympia; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Visitation was held Tuesday at
McComb Funeral Home. The Rev-
erend James Markus officiated at
memorial services held Wednes-
day at Mount Olive Lutheran
Church. Burial was at Odd Fellows
Memorial Park in Tumwater. Ar-
