natural causes Thursday, Febru-
ary 20, in Shelton. She was 84.

She enjoyed
spending time with her family
and friends and her faithful com-
panion, Baby Doll, 3 14-year-old
Boston terrier.
She also enjoyed her home for
the past 32 years where she gar-
dened and raised a variety of ani-
mals, One of her favorite pas-
times was to have coffee with
family and friends on her back
porch She was always eager to go
camping or traveling Whenever
she had the opportunity.
She was the cornerstone of her
family and her strength and
sense of humor will be missed,
her family said.
She was also preceded in death
by her daughter Theresa Mag-
nett, son Richard LeGarde and
brother Matthew Downing.
Survivors include her daugh-
ters Joyce Evankovich and Mary
Beth Sweeten of Shelton, Georgie
Blackburn of Augusta, Georgia,
and Barbara Harrington of Nova-
to, California; sister Caroline
Tompkins of Des Moines, Iowa;
grandchildren Cye Laramie of
Olympia, Brion Harrington of No-
vato, California, Joseph Evanko-
vich of Lacey, Maura Harrington
of Houston, Texas, Sean Black-
burn of Augusta, Georgia, and
Lucy Evankovich, Raymond
Sweeten, Richard Blackburn and
Ed Sweeten, all of Shelton; 12
great-grandchildren, two great—
great-grandchildren and care giv-
