Katrina M. Osier
Katrina Marie Osier, a former
Shelton resident, died of injuries
from an auto accident Wednes-
day, November 25, in Olympia.
She was 22 and had lived in
Olympia the past three years.
She was born May 25, 1976, in
Shelton to Robert and Patty
(Anderson) Osier. She graduated
from Shelton High School in
1994.
During her senior year, she
and other Shelton High School
students worked on a civic project
for a class assignment. She re-
searched the dog pound, then lo-
cated along State Route 3, taking
photos and doing other things to
document how animal protection
there could be improved.
Through many hours of work,
which included a presentation at
the Capitol Rotunda in Olympia,
the committee found the Mar—
guen'te Doe Foundation in Santa
Barbara, California, which donat-
ed $40,000 for Shelton‘s new ani-
mal shelter. That was one of her
many acts of love for animals and
nature.
She had been employed at Me»
morial Clinic in Olympia as a re—
ceptionist in the nephrology de-
partment, Her dream was to work
in the field of marine biology.
She truly loved spending time
with her fiance and caring for
their reptiles and animals, her
family said
She is survived by fiance Eric
“Brewer” Cassidy of Olympia;
parents Robert “Bob” and Patty
Osier of Shelton; grandparents
Earl and Alberta Osier of Lacey;
brothers Travis Osier of Fort Ste-
wart, Georgia, and Cameron Osi—
er of Shelton; sister Diane Nelson
of Rockford, Minnesota; two
nieces and numerous aunts, un-
cles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held
at noon Friday, December 4, at
Hope Chapel, 421 West E Street,
Shelton. The Reverend Steve
Schroeder will officiate. Burial
will be at Shelton Memorial Park,
Arrangements are by McComb
