TO: Claude Villarreal
RE: Address: 512 9th Street Subdivision: Third Addition
Block 133 Lots: 10,12
Our records show that this structure was first assessed in 1891. The owner
from 1891 to 1902 was Gilbert S Hamilton. The owner from 1902 to 1926,
the last year of our tax record database, was Sylvia G Hamilton.
Per your request we are enclosing the tax assessor record. Gilbert Satterly
Hamilton is on the list of Pacific Grove pioneers described in the book Piney
Paradise, 1952 Edition. We are enclosing the page containing the Hamilton
citation.
We are also enclosing articles from the local papers which describe the
medical attack suffered by G S Hamilton in 1901 which probably
precipitated the change in ownership to his wife Sylvia, the death in 1907 of
G S Hamilton, the marriage of Sylvia to E. E. Prusia, and the death of Sylvia
in 1929.
The house no longer exists.

Newspapers only print Public Information
First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Newspapers produce and deliver news and information which they feel is important -- most often
from public information such as arrest reports, traffic infractions, accidents, indictments,
lawsuits, jury verdicts, property records, legal notices, and many other sources of information
which is freely available to anyone at any time. Newspaper publishers do not have access to any

The use of your name in an article does not mean you own it. Newspapers deliver news on all sorts
of public matters which, in addition to information found in the public registers, may include
statements you make to a reporter or official, your photograph, background and other information
provided by you or others, rebuttals, opinions, and other information such as court-ordered
legal notices, and historical and statistical data.
