Lloyd “L P.” George, a longtime
Shelton resident of 61 years. died
of cancer Wednesday, August 8,
at Saint Peter Hospital in Olym-
pia. He was 74,
He was born December 4, 1926
in Lewiston, Nebraska, to Walter
and Irene (Meister) George.
He served in the merchant ma-
rine from November 16, 1944 to
January 28, 1947. He had
reached the rank of officer’s mess—
man at the time of his discharge.
He married Wilma (Clary)
George on November 10, 1946 in
Shelton,
Mr. George worked as a truck
dispatcher for Simpson Building
Supply for 21 years before retirA
ing in 1983.
He enjoyed bird hunting and
the outdoors, cattle, horses and
his nieces and nephews, to whom
he gave nicknames.
Survivors include his wife, Wil-
ma George of Shelton; daughters
Paula Stingle of Chimacum and
Diane St. Paul of Shelton; sister
Willadean Randall of Shelton;
three grandchildren, one great-
granddaughter and numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service is
planned. Memorial donations
may be made to the charity of the
donor’s choice.
