E . Maureen Hannah E Maureen “Mickey’TAlice (Dorcy) Hannah was born in Bellingham, Washington, on June 7, 1928. She died of natural causes on January 27, 2014, at the home she loved on Spencer Lake. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Hannah; her parents, William T. and Sylva A. (Miller) Dorcy, a sister Laura (Dorcy) King. and a brother, William V. Dorcy. She is survived by sons Thomas, James, Daniel, Joseph, Christopher and Benjamin Hannah; daughters Teresa (Hannah) Crichton and Jean Hannah; brother Bernard Dorcy, sisters Sylva (Dorcy) Bemis, Aileen (Dorcy) Covert, Bonnie (Dorcy) Meyer, and Judith (Dorcy) White; 23 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. Mickey attended Bellingham High School and Washington State University where she began studies as a pharmacy technician. She loved swimming in and sailing on Puget Sound and was very athletic in her youth. In college, she met Wayne Edward Hannah, her husband for 57 years, until his death in 2005. Mickey soon became a homemaker and the mother of 8 children, her life's work. She was an avid homemaker, excellent seamstress, great cook, and had a special talent for arranging flowers. She focused her life on her eight children, played tennis and was certified as a Master Catechist, teaching religious education at her parish for many years. She and Wayne became interested in genealogy, and over many years they compiled a 2,000—person family tree. They authored several books on the subject, and leave a lasting treasure for their offspring. Mickey was an active member of St Edward Parish, where a Mass will be held Feb. 7 at 12:00pm.
