—l.fihr-l_ a Albert L. Gouley Albert Lyle Gouley, a lifetime Mason County resident and long- time Simpson Timber Company employee, died of cancer-related causes on Saturday, January 14, in Shelton. He was 71. He was born March 18, 1934 on the Skokom- ish Indian Res- ervation to Alex ‘ and Grace (Pe- terson) Gouley. He graduated in 1953 from Irene S. Reed High School, where he excelled in sports. He served in the U.S. Army Albert L- Airborne Divi- Gouley sion. He and LaVonne “Bonnie” (Sampson) Gouley were married on June 30, 1962 in Tacoma. Mr. Gouley worked for Simpson Timber Company for 43 years at the Insulation Board Plant and sorting yard, where he graded logs and operated the stacker. He was a member of the Skokomr ish Tribe and International Wood- workers of America union. He loved baseball, especial- ly watching the Mariners, and played catcher on the Skokomish team. He also enjoyed traveling to Reno, Nevada. His parents, brothers Alex and Clyde Gouley, sister Nancy LaClair and nephew Rodney Gou- ley all preceded him in death. Surviving are wife LaVonne Gouley of Shelton; sons Lyle Thomas Gouley of Hoodsport, Ray Eugene Gouley, Albert Paul Gou- ley and Richard Glenn Gouley, all of Shelton; brother Tom Gouley of Skokomish; sisters Harriet Gouley and Carol Cordova of Skokomish, and Lila Vigil and Marie Gouley of Hoodsport; grandchildren Grace Mandy Gouley and Katerie Em— ily Gouley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing is from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, at Mc- Comb Funeral Home in Shelton. A funeral service will be at 1 pm. on Friday, January 20, at Hope Cha- pel, 421 West E Street, Shelton.
