We will do our best to fill in the missing years of Dr. Davis' life. The only clue from Ihe people in New York City iS Ihat she spoke kindly of the Museum Director, a Mr. Vern Yadon. We'll follow that lead and see where it takes us (to a field of noxious weeds, no doubt). Seriously, Dr. Davis had a remarkable career as the attached information indicates. B,KE SAFETY CHECK The Pacific Grove Bicycle Advisory Committee is sponsoring a free bike check on Sunday, November 17. 1996, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lovers Point (where the Recreation Trail meets Ocean View Boulevard). Mechanics from two local bicycle shops, Winning Wheels Bicycle Shop and Pacific Rim Cycling, will check out bikes and make service and safety recommendations. The Pacific Grove Police Department will also be present to license bicycles. Thanks to the Committee for putting together this very useful and valuable program. ANNUAL AUCTION The City will hold its annual auction of unclaimed property and surplus equipment on Saturday, November 16, 1996, at 9:00 a.m. at the Corporation Yard. Items include 4 vehicles, 49 bicycles, car stereo, cameras, misc. jewelry, watches and misc. surplus city property. Auction items may be inspected beginning at 8:30 a.m. ON TIEE *IORIZON A summary of meetings and special events to take place over the next several weeks.
