Oct. 20. She was a long
time resident of Shelton.
She was born May 5,
1925 in Elma to Herbert
and Mary Helen (Mc—
Nearney)

was the owner/operator
of the Lucky Strike Café,
a waitress at various res—
taurants in Shelton and a
retail clerk at Money Sav-
ers.
She was an original
member of the Dolphins
swim program, EEI Secre-
tary/Treasurer for Excep-
tional Foresters, a mem-
ber of the Emblem Club
at the Shelton Elks Lodge
#2467 and a Rocking
Grandmother for Choice
High School.
Her family shared that
she enjoyed getting her
family together for holi-
day feasts andjust having
fun, she also liked to in-
clude military personnel.
She enjoyed crafts, music,
dancing and working in
her yard. Her family said
that she was a selfless
giver of her time and re-
sources unconditionally.
She is survived by her
sons Bruce Gardner and
Donald Gardner (Mary);
daughters Carolyn Gard-
ner, Kathy Morry (Peter)
and Denise Gardner; sis-
ters Bertha Carlsen and
Geneva Healy; 17 grand-
children and 19 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded ,in
death by her parents; hus-
band Richard D. Gardner,
brothers Thomas Decker
and Francis Decker.
A memorial Service
will be held at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 29 at the
Hope Chapel, 421 West
E Street, Shelton. A cel-
ebration of life reception
will be held at 12:30 p.m.
on Saturday, Oct. 29 at
St. Edward’s Catholic
Church Social Hall fol-
lowing the memorial ser-
vice.
