Robert Lee Backlund Robert L. Backlund Robert Lee “Bobby" Backlund, a Shelton resident for 45 years, died of congestive heart failure Monday, March 27, at Mason General Hospital. He was 55. He was born September 16, 1944 in Mora, Minnesota, to Earl and Pearl Backlund. He married Jewell (Bender) Backlund January 13 in Shelton. He was a retired utility worker from Simpson Timber Company. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing and playing pool. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Backlund of Shelton; step, sons Richard Bender of Shelton and Robert Bender Sr. of Gardin- er, Maine; stepdaughter Sandra Estrada of Wichita, Kansas, and brothers Ronald and Orvil Back- lund of Shelton. A memorial service will be held at p.m. Thursday, April 6, at the United Methodist Church of Shelton. Inurnment will be at pm. Thursday, April 6, at Shel- ton Memorial Park.
