Mr. Zehrung married LaVerne
Frankenstein in Standard, Calif., in
June 1964.
He started his career in Vallejo Is»
land, Calif., and retired from the
Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where
he worked as a toolmaker.
Mr. Zehrung loved taking a trip to
Hawaii this past summer and
spending time with his family He
enjoyed repairing engines, wood-
working and remodeling his home.
He also enjoyed motorvhome camp—
ing, bird watching and was an active
square and round dancer in the
southwest Washington area. He es
pecially enjoyed catching sturgeon
in Astoria, Oreo
Mr. Zehrung is survived by his
wife, LaVerne “Frankie," Shelton; a
son, Rod, Peoria, 111.; a daughter and
son-in-law, Rebecca and Omendra
Jayasundara, Key Peninsula; his fa-
ther-in-law and mother-in-law, Nile
and BettyJane Frankenstein; two
brothers, William, Denair, Calit, and
Thomas, Mariposa, Calif.; three sis-
ters, Zeida Cashman, Oakdale,
Calif, Margaret Webb, Lebec, Calif.,
and Carol Phillips, Jamestown,
Califi; an aunt; and numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering of friends and family
will be from 5 to 7 pm. Friday, Oct.
18, in the family home, Shelton.
The family suggests memorial
donations be made to Mason
County Literacy, P.O. Box H, Shel~
ton, Washi 98584, or to United Way of
Kneeland Playground Fund.

E. and Carol A. (Kellum) Zeh-
rung. He was married in Stan-
dard, Californiagin June of 1964
To the former LaVerne Franken-
stein,
Mr. Zehrung started working
on Vallejo Island, California. He
retired from the Puget Sound Na-
val Shipyard, where he had been
employed as a toolmaker.
He enjoyed Working with his
hands to repair engines, craft
wood and remodel his home. He
enjoyed camping in a motorhome,
watching birds and square danc-
ing in the southwest part of the
state. He especially enjoyed
catching his first legal sturgeon
oi? of Astoria, Oregon, this sum-
mer. He also enjoyed the company
of his family and a trip that he
and his wife took to Hawaii this
summer.
Survivors include his wife, La-
Verne “Frankie” Zehrung of Shel-
ton; his son, Rod Zehrung of Peor-
ia, Illinois; his daughter and son-
