Ethel B. LeCount
Ethel B. LeCount died on Fri-
day, August 6, at Fir Lane Health
and Rehabilitation Center in
Shelton, She was 90 and a former
Matlock and Allyn resident.
She was born
on October 6,
1913 at Matlock
to John Albert
and Maryann
Jane (Maxwell)
Wharton. She
attended school
in Brady.
Her mother ‘ ‘
died when she Enid B-
was young and LeCO‘mt
her father, who
was a carpenter and working by
Hood Canal, would take the kids
with him to the canal so most of
her summers were spent on the
canall
She married Raymond Roy Le-
Count on April 7, 1932 in Monte-
sano and they moved to Hoquiam
that same year. Her husband pro-
ceded her in death in 1975.
Following her husband’s death
she moved to Allyn to live with
her daughter. She then moved to
Shelton to live at the Alpine Way
Retirement Apartments for the
past two years. She enjoyed living
there thanks in part to bingo, the
sing-alongs, church services and
the ice cream socials. She liked to
do embroidering, cold ceramic
painting, quilting and fishing
She was a member of the A1-
pine Rebekah Lodge of Hoquiam.
Surviving are daughter Shirley
Sellers of Allyn; sons Raymond
LeCount of Hoquiam and Robert
LeCount of Aberdeen; sister Emi-
ly Leithold of Tacoma; eight
grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
sisters Dorothy Burch, Alice Le-
Count and Mary Cunningham;
brothers Jack and Kenneth
Wharton; and grandsons Troy Le-
Count and James Sellers.
Funeral services were to be
held Wednesday, August 11, in
Hoquiam. Private interment will
be at Sunset Memorial Park in
Hoquiam.
