Vernon Robert “Bob”
Nault, 83, a lifetime resi-
dent of Shelton, died Jan.
22, 2013, surrounded by
family.
He was born July 13,
1929, in Gwinn, Mich., to
Wilfred L. and Virginia
(Lebreche) Nault.
Vernon moved to Shel-
ton in 1945. At age 15, he
joined the
Navy in
1947, serv-
ing during
the Kore-
an War.
He mar-
, ried Anita
Darlene
Eagle in
March
1955 in
Shelton.
The couple
was mar-
ried for nearly 58 years.
He worked at Rayonier
Pulp Mill until it closed,
and worked as a shift su-
pervisor for Alaska Lumber
and Pulp Mill in Sitka,
Alaska, for five years.
When the couple moved
back to Shelton, Vernon
purchased Mason County
Garbage Co. with business
partner Cliff Vanderwal,
and retired in December

He was a devoted mem-
ber of Moriah Christian
Center of Shelton. His hob-
bies included fishing, hunt-
ing, camping, clamming,
bowling and gardening. His
family described Bob as a
perpetual hard worker.
He and Anita worked in
Eastern Washington for 10
seasons in apple orchards
during harvest time. They
would then travel south in
their motor home during
the winter months.
He was survived by wife
Anita Nault of Shelton;
son Rick Nault of Shelton;
daughter Melody (Steve)
Cahill of Olympia; broth-
ers Geral (Polly) Nault of
Shelton, Duane (Donna)
Nault of Olympia and Gary
(Mary) Nault of Tacoma;
sisters Delphine (Bill)
Kamin of Shelton, Jane
(Frank) Ellerbroek and
Jean Hunt of Vancouver,
Wash.; sister-in-law Mary
Lou Nault of Shelton;
granddaughter Stevie May—
nard of Shelton; grandsons
Evan and Andrew Cahill;
great-grandson Danie (Bre-
ana) Black; great-great—
granddaughter Brooklyn
Black; and numerous niec-
es, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; son
Bobby; daughter Pam; sis-
ters Gloria and Mae Smith;
and brother Leo.
A service will take place
at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.
1, at Hope Chapel, 421 W.
E Street, Shelton.
