An Initial Historic Screening is a preliminary step that may or may not rule out the need for a Phase I Historic Assessment. Ifthe property is considered to be ineligible for listing on the City's Historic Resources Inventory (HR!), a Preliminary Determination ofIneligibility will be prepared by the Historic Resources Committee (HRC). The HRC will forward their recommendation to the ChiefPlanner as to whether a Phase I Historic Assessment should be prepared. The ChiefPlanner will then either I.) Issue a Final Notice oflneligibility, or 2.) Make a determination that a Phase I Historic Asses.sment is required. If a Preliminary Determination ofIneligibility cannot be made, a Phase 1 Historic Assessment will automatically be required. The ChiefPlpt\ner has final authority as to whether or not a Phase 1 Historic Assessment will be required. Submittal Requir Jnents: 1. Signed and dated Initial Historic Screening Request form 2. Proofofage ofstructure 3.
