Dear Tom:
This letter in response to your October 21, 2012 Replacement Plague Request for your
home located at 304 Fountain Ave., in Pacific Grove. As we discussed this morning, your
request was submitted to the Pacific Grove Heritage Society's Board ofDirectors at our
February 5, 2013 meeting. Although the Board felt there was merit in your request, there
is currently work being done on the exterior ofyour home. The Board felt that given the
ongoing work it would be preferable to revisit your request when the project is
completed.
I noted in the work permits approved that you were replacing vinyl windows with wood
framed windows and that you were interested achieving/retaining the 1905 period
character of the home.
Although we are unable to approve your initial request, we do thank you for your interest
in Pacific Groves Heritage Society
Please contact the Heritage Society when the project is completed and we will revisit
your request.

Newspapers only print Public Information
First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Newspapers produce and deliver news and information which they feel is important -- most often
from public information such as arrest reports, traffic infractions, accidents, indictments,
lawsuits, jury verdicts, property records, legal notices, and many other sources of information
which is freely available to anyone at any time. Newspaper publishers do not have access to any

The use of your name in an article does not mean you own it. Newspapers deliver news on all sorts
of public matters which, in addition to information found in the public registers, may include
statements you make to a reporter or official, your photograph, background and other information
provided by you or others, rebuttals, opinions, and other information such as court-ordered
legal notices, and historical and statistical data.
