She recalled that Mr.. Adam.took art
training in Edinburgh, Scotland and 6*m#
around the H6rn to Xmerica in a sailing
vessel. His early works were in water-
'color., turning to oil ih later years. The
Ghirardelli ' family .of San Francisco .
owned many of his paintings and they
were on exhibit in well-known galleries. :

a Mecca for artists in 1925. -"One can

is a wealth of material." Pacific Grove, he
noted, had "pine and oak- forests and a
charming coastline." The August, 1925,
