Méxine Youens Maxine Castle Youens, 91, of Novato, California, died on April 18‘ She was born on April 30, 1907, in Portland, Oregon. Her family moved to Shorewood Drive in Bremerton when she was a young child and she attended Kit- sap Lake Grade School and Brem- erton High School. In 1929, she married Art Youens and in 1938 they bought property on what is now Blomlie Road. The family spent summers there, first in a large tent, then small cabin. The Youenses’ retire» ment home was built there in 1970. Mrs. Youens was a long-time member of the Belfair Art Guildi Her final years were spent near her daughter in Monrovia, Cali- fornia, and recently at Canterber- ry Manor in Bremerton. %rwas preceded in death by her husband, Art, and her son, David Survivors include her son, Win Youens of Novato, California; daughter, Marcia Laun of Arca- dia, California and Belfair; sisters, Avis Brennen of Morton, Washington, Ethel Rusher of Bremerton and Patricia Dahl of Port Angeles; niece, Phyllis Schuettke of Tahuya; eight grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
