pia, She was 78 and lived in Shel-
ton 70 years.

Mrs. Oakes
was a caregiver
and cook for the Ernestine

rated for 30 years.
She enjoyed gardening, cook-
ing, fishing, reading romance sto—
ries and playing bingo. She was a
member of the Shelton Moose
Lodge and Veterans of Foreign
Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were
husband James Oakes; brother
Bud Cole; sister Cora Deffin-
baugh; and mother Susie Colel
Surviving are sons James E.
Oakes and Kenneth W. Oakes of
Shelton and Paul L. Oakes of
Bremerton; daughter Jenny L.
Oakcs ofPort Orchard; grandchil-
dren Kayla Oakes, Taylor»Ann

Monday, May 23, at Hope Chapel
in Shelton. Pastor Ken Nielsen of-
ficiated. Inurnment was at Shel-
ton Memorial Park,

Springs Road, Shelton.
