Closer Thli., In instrumental group from Bangkok, in Northern Thai- lind, will appear at the Club Chaperral Frid.y and Saturday, July 25 and 26, beginning at 9 p.m. Ind I..ting till 1:30 I. m. The group began two y.ar. ago by playing .mall club. in Bangkok before someone from Korat Air Ba.. in Bang- kok heard th.m and signed them up to play at the military club th.re. An Air Force Captlin brought them to this "country and they now play for dances, privat. pertie. and. eir cours., military club•. With the .xc.ption of a f.w Th.i songs, the boy••ing in Engli.h, a language th.y pain.tak- ingIy learn.d. IPlasma Cutting Tool I (Continued from Pig. n mounted in a Linde Shape Cut- ing Machine, which consists of a dual carriage, a photocell tracer, and an oxy-acetylene or oxy-fuel gas cutting machine in addition to the plasma unit. Movement of the dual car- riages is controlled by a photo- cell tracer which scans and fol- lows an outline drawing or the e d g e of a silhouette on the template table, without physi- cal contact, and without the shifting c a use d by a guide wheel. Optical tracing elimi- nates the need for plastic, wood or hardboard templates, which are expensive to prepare, re- ·place and store. Simple silhou- ettes or pencil or ink line draw- ings on paper are used. These are economical to prepare and can be easily stored or filed. The photocell tracer can ne- gotiate 90-degree turns in 1/16- in. radius at speeds up to 15- inches per minute and 90-de- gree turns with 3/ 32-in. radius at speeds up to 30·inches per minute. Since ordinary light or bright sunlight will not interfere with the operation of the tracer, the unit may be located anywhere without regard for lighting con- ditions. Fat Albert Lost Local Residents Invited To Search Fat Albert is lost! Those in- terested in joining in the search for Fat Albert should come to Sandquist Spa at 7:30 p.m. Wed- nesday, July 30. Activities will include abo n i fie d chaotic search for Fat Albert. The find- er will be rewarded. There will be v 0 11 e y b a 11, marshmallow roast, pop and beer drinking, and dancing to both taped and live music. U's a "grub" sea r chand dance, so dig out your old levis, sweatshirt and tennies, and come on out and join the fun. All local residents above the age of 18, single or married, are cordially invited. For fur- ther information, contact Don ~,~'''.-!t! .( "."t. 72092, or 71340. This function is sponsored by th~ Summer Activities Group. Another aspect of the photo- cell tracer unit is the automat- ic shut-off located on the top of the unit which turns off all torches in operation should the tracer lose the line. This prevents r u in i n g expensive plate. Use of the Plasma Cutting unit has in the past saved any- where from a few minutes to a few days in the cutting of various jobs, depending on the size of the job 'and the metal involved. This represents a very large savings in cost dur- ing difficult operations. The shape-cutting machine has been in use for approxi- mately one year and is located in the southwest corner of the welding shop.
