Subject: 614 19th Street
Dear Jim:
The City Manager has asked me to respond to your letter of October 9, 1994 to the City
Council regarding the process for removing the house at 614 19th Street from the
Historic Resources Inventory.
In your June 2, 1994 letter you stated that you believed this house was included on the
Inventory in error because the original redwood siding has been stuccoed. The
information you submitted was conveyed to Adam Weiland, Research Director of the
Heritage Society of Pacific Grove, with a request for clarification about the indusion of
this house on the Inventory.
On November 17, 1994 Mr. Weiland submitted a written comment (copy enclosed)
which concluded that the house was included in error and should not be on the list.
The Historic Preservation Ordinance (section 23.76.030(c)) provides for administrative
changes to the History Resources Inventory. Based on the information submitted by Mr.
Weiland, I have deleted 614 19th Street from the Historic Resources Inventory.
Thank you for bringing this error to our attention. 1 apologize for any inconvenience
caused by our riot responding to your first letter as a request for an administrative
change.
