TOW TRUCK DRIVER Mario Ibarra pulls a cable from his truck while
working to remove a late-model Mazda from a ditch along State
Route 179 near the 1.17 interchange Friday, Jan. 21. Department
of Public Safety officers saida Phoenix man driving the Mazda
was traveling northbound on the road when he swerved to avoid

an oncoming vehicle trying to pass a southbound car. The man
apparently swerved and lost control of his car and rolled it 20
feet down an embankment. The man was transported by sedona
Fire District personnel to the Verde Valley Medlcsi Center Sedona
Campus with minor injuries.
Jan. 20
I Suspended license: Scdona police
arrested Andrea Acklin. 22, of Nevada
City, Caliti. after police made traitic stop
on State Route 179 for an inoperable tail-
light. After stopping the vehicle, Acklin
notified the responding officer she was
unable Io locate her license or insurance.
At that time, police heard over the radio
that Acklin‘s license had been suspended.
She was arrested and transported to the
Sedona Police Depanmem for booking. A
search or her vehicle returned marijuana
and drug paraphernalia, which Acklin said
belonged to her. though she also told offi-
cers she had a medical marijuana card from
California, which officers later found.
Acklin was charged for possession of
. marijuana, drug paraphernalia, driving
on it suspended license and no mandatory
insurance. Her vehicle was 'mxvrd and
Ackllin was transported to the Yavapai
County Detention Center in Camp Verde.
Jan. 19
I Suspended license: Scdona police
arrested John Dean. 53, of Sedona after
officers observed his vehicle traveling at a
high rate of speed on State Route 179 near
East Mallard Lane. Officers estimated
the vehicle to be traveling at 45 mph in a
35mph zone.
While he showed police a valid Arizona
driver‘s license, officers later learned that

of Illinois. Dean’s vehicle was impounded
and towed. He was transported in the
Sedona Police Department for booking
and was released with u promise to appear
at a later date.
I Criminal trespass: Christine Lail,
53, of Sedona was arrested by police after
they responded to a report ofa trespassing
in progress at business on Goodrow
Lane. Lail had left the scent: upon arrival
ofpolice. but was found a short time later
and transported to the Sedona Police
Department for booking. She told officers
she had gone to the business to get money
owed to her, though she had already
been warned against doing so by police,
according to the report.
Employees at the scene pressed charges
against Lall and said the process was under
way to get Lail the money she is owed.
Lail was booked at the Sedona Police
Department and later transported to the
Yavapai County Detention Center.
I Forgery: Sedona police arrested Jorge
Limones-Diaz, 18. of Seduna after police
observed him driving a vehicle near State
Route 89A and N. Airport Road. According
to the police report, officers had prior
contact with Limones-Diaz and were told
he did not have a driver’s license. He was
stopped near Soldier Pass Road. Police
grew suspicious ofthe Mexican identifica»
tion they were provided and later verified
it as a forgery.
Limones-Diaz was transported to the
Sedona Police Department for booking
and later taken to the Yavapai County
Detention Center. His vehicle. which
belongs to his mother. was impounded for
the mandatory 30rday period.

disorderly conduct after he was observed
in a physical altercation with his s ouse in
Uptown. Upon officer‘s smith
had left the scene.
According to the police report,
believed his wife to be having
an affair and confronted her about it. He
was also reported to have taken her cell
phone. which he said he owned and did not
want her to use to call the other man. He
was later found at home with his spouse.
