Robert Hammond Robert Hammond Robert Hammond, a resident of Shelton for more than 40 years, died Saturday, December 11, at Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia of injuries from a logging accident that occurred on Thursday, De- cember 9, in Thurston County. He was 48. He was born December 19, 1950 in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Bernham P. and Audrey (Brown) Hammondl He married Kristie (Look) Brown on June 11,1971. Mr. Hammond served in the US. Army from December of 1968 to January 1971, He served in Vietnam and was a Specialist 4 add-Te time of his discharge from service, He worked in the woods as a hook tender for Fred B. Moe Log~ ging for 13 years and for the Simpson Timber Company for 15 years. He was a member of the Clas- sic Chevy Club. He enjoyed re- storing classic cars, cutting fire- wood for family and friends, de- signing and making wooden signs, decorative mushrooms and planters. He also enjoyed scuba diving and was a frequent blood donor. He was preceded in death by his father, Bumham “Doc” Ham- mond, and brothers John Healey, Roger Hammond and Jim Ham- mond. Mr. Hammond is survived by his Wife, Kristie Hammond of Shelton; sons Lee Hammond of Tacoma and Lonny Hammond of Shelton; and mother Audrey Hinchcliff and stepfather Dale Hinchcliff of Westport. Also surviving him are 10 brothers, Chris Hammond, Tim Hammond, Jerry Hinchclifi", Basil Hammond and Rolland Ham— mond, all of Shelton, Dale l-Iinch- cliff Jr. of Olympia, Charles Ham- mond of Oregon, Rodney Ham- mond of Port Orchard, Lewayne Hammond of Olympia and Ron Healey of Issaquah; three sisters, Roxie Duchsherer of Shelton, Debbie Miller of Grants Pass, 0r- egon, and Linda Chase of Taco- ma. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Thursday, December 16, at Hope Chapel, 421 West E Street, Shelton.
